Affectionately known as the "Horseshoe Crab," this mid 30's National electric lap steel was created at the peak of the Hawaiian Guitar craze and its design is truly evocative of the period. Blade style, adjustable pickup, bakelite knobs, pots and wiring are all original and functional. At some point, a previous owner decided to repaint the instrument and the tuners were replaced by us with new Grover open backs. The felt on the bottom of the instrument was mostly missing so we removed the remnants and the next owner can re-felt if he or she cares to. Has original, cool two-toned hardcase.
