A rare and wonderful acoustic archtop from well respected German maker Boris Dommenget. It’s possible this is the only, or one of few D’aquisto Solo tributes from this maker, who has developed a superb reputation in Luthiery. There are not a lot of archtops available out there modeled off the D’Aquisto Solo, especially handcarved from all solid woods.

Condition / Setup Notes

In excellent plus shape, with minimal wear if any at all. The guitar currently has a string height in the neighborhood of 4/64-3/64 form bass to treble, with the adjustment wedge in its highest position. It is set up with 13s, with minimal relief in the neck. There is an additional saddle included which raises the height, although I am not sure the range of adjustment that other saddle would provide. The tailpiece is a reproduction, made from striped ebony. At one point the tail was drilled out for a pickup, which is no longer in the guitar. We can install a pickup on request, at additional charge. Either Lollar Johnny Smith style or a new De'Armond. Just let us know what you'd like.

Masterfully carved, a really stunning guitar. It has a nice acoustic voice that responds well to a pick and fingerstyle. Such a nice experience to play and hold a hand-carved guitar that is modeled so closely after the legendary D’Aquisto Solo. The tone is very vintage warm, punchy and full. Jay Wolfe says it rivals his 1940's non-cut L7's, and he brags on those babies often. If you want tone, volume, exclusivity, value and...."beauty".......here it is.
