1953 Epiphone - Zephyr Regent, New York Built - Blonde
Serial No. 66285. Includes newer SKB type black Tolex hardshell case. This lovely vintage Pre-Gibson Epiphone is a delight to play. We just re-string it with 13's roundwounds & it sounds terrific.
This guitar came from a former player with a very well cared for collection.
Condition is very good for its age. There are a number of small imperfections as you'd expect, but very few. Guitar had some binding shrinkage/cracking, all of which has been professionally repaired and stable. I’m guessing the binding on the bass side of neck was repaired while the treble side has been replaced as it is in better condition. Tuners have been replaced by Grovers. Very nice straight neck; with Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Been re-fretted at some point and the frets are in excellent condition. Electronics all function perfectly and sounds amazing. The pickup was replaced at some point and looks like required some minor routing; please see pictures. Not sure of exactly what pickup is in it but labeled “jazz”. Gorgeous guitar and fun to play.
