This Taylor 910 is a well-preserved 1996 (now "Vintage" at almost 30 years old) model that has seen light use. The materials are top-grade with an Engelmann Spruce top/Rosewood body and Ebony board and bridge. This older 910 has mojo and the deep soulful richness typical of the top tier Taylor productions from that era, before they began churning out 400 Guitars a day!. A lot of people consider 90's Taylors to be among the best they've made with some fans advocating that their acoustic tone is fuller than that of later 910 models. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference but this 910 is a great example of early Taylor 1990s best work. For many fans, Taylor's 900 series guitars from the late nineties are their absolute favorite. Here are a few reasons why:
1. The Indian Rosewood they used back then is very rich in color and shows a lot of beautiful red hues.
2. The neck is thinner than what you can get today on a standard build. Super comfortable to play.
3. The Engelmann spruce top is a beautiful creamy color and sounds incredible.
4. The "Cindy" inlay on the fretboard are stunning.
5. The nut width is 1-11/16" and the scale length is standard.
The sound is briliiant. The 910’s sonic output is loud, resonant and balanced throughout the entire tonal range. The neck is straight with comfortable action and accurate intonation. The frets have minimal wear. This acoustic blends sonic power and aesthetic refinement. Voicing nuances boost the all-around tonal output, not only in the lows and mids, but noticeably in the strong treble punch, which pickers will love.
